Earthwood Gallery hosts western-based fine artists

The fifth annual “Western Light” exhibit at Earthwood Gallery in Estes Park features original paintings of a hand-picked array of some of the most amazing western-based fine artists. The exhibition and sale, Aug. 22-Oct. 31, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The exhibition highlights the newest and best studio and plein air works from 15 top American fine artists and more than 75 new paintings will be unveiled at the opening at the Earthwood Gallery, 141 E. Elkhorn Ave. The subject matter are the people, landscapes, wildlife and architecture set in the wonderful light that bathes the beautiful western U.S.

There is also a fun “paint out” open to the public on Aug. 21, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., on the streets in downtown Estes Park. Many people find it fascinating to witness paintings being created from scratch, en plein air, by the talented fine artists.

A special gala opening reception, where Best of Show, Artists Choice and Peoples Choice are awarded, takes place on Aug. 22 from
6-9 p.m. The opening reception at the gallery provides an opportunity to see the new art, enjoy refreshments and meet the artists in person.
