Oskar Blues Fooderies to open new restaurant and music venue in downtown Denver

New 11,000 Square Foot Space in Historic Market Center Will Serve up Burgers, Beer and Live Music in Denver
Lyons Oskar Blues Fooderies, the purveyors of handcrafted food to pair with Oskar Blues Brewery’s handcrafted beer, has announced its third project in 2016, a joint restaurant and music venue in the historic Market Center located in the heart of Downtown Denver.
The Market Center building project announcement coincides with the grand opening of two OB Fooderies locations in the RiNo arts district set to open this fall.  The craft-casual CHUBurger concept brings handcrafted burgers, an extensive beer selection and a live local music scene while the Hotbox Roasters spin-off artisanal coffee and doughnuts is slated to open their first brick and mortar location near CHUBurger at 35th and Larimer.
The new Market Center concept will occupy 11,000 square feet on two levels. The restaurant space, located on the street level, will feature the southern-inspired specialties Oskar Blues Fooderies are known for, bringing the low country to the high country, including slow smoked locally sourced meats, wood grilled burgers, New Orleans style grilled oysters and seafood. They will feature 43 beers on draft including favorites from Oskar Blues Brewery as well as craft breweries from around the country. The space will also feature a variety of bourbons and whiskey as well as barrel aged beers on tap and cellared.
“The Black Buzzard” music venue and smoke house will occupy 5,500 square feet in the bottom half of the venue. The music-inspired space will also feature draft offerings along with a wide variety of concert ready canned beers from Oskar Blues Brewery and craft brewers from around the country. The space will pay homage to nearly 20 years of Oskar Blues’ passion for live TUNES, with local and national touring acts slated to perform seven nights a week, as well as recording capabilities.
“We can’t wait to feed the appetites of ColoRADoans near and far with good food, brews and tunes,” said Chef Jason Rogers. “Denver has been on our radar for years and we are excited to find a space to call home. Not to mention revitalizing the Blues and Live music in a historic spot.”
The space, located at 1624 Market Street, will open summer 2017 and hours are 11 AM to 2 AM daily, with brunch beginning a bit earlier each weekend.
“With the vibrant, unique energy of LoDo, we’ve been working hard to find the right tenant to occupy this key space at Market Center,” stated Pat McHenry, Principal with City Street Investors. “The Oskar Blues Brewery is a well-loved Denver establishment-and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them.”
“We couldn’t imagine a better use of the space and future amenity to the entire neighborhood,” continued URG CEO Patrick Callahan. “The buildout of this dynamic space will also be a catalyst to make additional exterior improvements to Market Center and further enhance the streetscape experience.”
