Lyons, CO.— It’s been 13 years since Oskar Blues Brewery started the craft beer-in-a-CAN apocalypse in an old barn turned CANnery located just outside of the original Oskar Blues Grill & Brew brewpub in Lyons, CO. Today, more than 500 craft breweries in the U.S. brew and CAN beer–offering consumers a fresher product by eliminating the damaging effects of light and ingressed oxygen.
To celebrate 13 years of great beer in a CAN, Oskar Blues is throwing a shindig on November 20th at the place where it all started–Oskar Blues Grill & Brew in Lyons. Oskar Blues’ 13th CANiversary will open the doors at 6pm with music from Fort Collins based band, Musketeer Gripweed, starting up at 7PM. Boulder based band, Hot Soup, will close out the night. The celebration will include specialty brews MASH APPEAL, BEERITO, REEB RYE, AND DEATH BY COCONUT CANs along with specialty drafts all day and night.
For Oskar Blues, celebrating over a decade of one of the biggest milestones in craft beer is reason enough to party. Come out and jam with all the OB’ers who make that possible. Free trolley rides will be available from the Tasty Weasel Taproom (1800 Pike Road, Longmont CO, 80501) to Oskar Blues Grill & Brew in Lyons starting at 5:30PM.
